What's going on about foreign nurses

Published

Hi, there

This is Carol. Nice meeting you. I came here about 7 months looking

for job. I'm attending a vocational school, and doing externship right

now. I already passed CA registered nurse licensed, and I'm preparing

English ability test. I'm trying to find a job in hospital, however, most

of them don't do sponsorship anymore. How come the situation

has been changed? Can you tell me what should I do next? I'm

frustrated everytime when I call to ask if the hospital does sonsor-

ship:(. I really wanna stay in States, I don't want to give up.

Thank you so much. Take care.

Why are you attending a vocational school now, for what training?

The US is under a retrogression at this time and there is no way to adjust from your student visa. This has been in effect since October, 2006.

There is currently no way that you will be able to remain in the US and work here at this time. Things have changed drastically and even with attending school here in the US, one no longer gets preference for a visa.

You are not going to find facilities that will petition at this time because of the long wait for a chance at a visa, we are talking years here, not months.

Best of luck to you but there is no way that anyone can remain in the US as a nurse that came here looking for a job. Are you actually on a student visa at this time, or on a tourist visa?
