HI I am a physician from India. I wanted to do Nursing course so that I could get a job as a Nurse. I will be really glad if u can provide me information , how early can i complete the course to start as profession. Please provide me info abt which colleges and abt the details of the courses.

thank u very much...

Well, Im not really sure if any of your courses from India will transfer. But assuming that they will not, you could get an associates degree in 3 years, or a bachelors in 4 years. What state will you be moving to?

Specializes in Vascular Access Nurse.

I guess it depends on the state you're working in. Here in Pennsylvania you can get a diploma RN or ADN in two years, and a BSN in four. LPN takes 12-18 months, but I'd go the RN route. Good luck!

Please look at our International forum. There is a wealth of threads and info available there, including info concerning retrogression and how it will affect you. There are some threads (stickies) at the top of the forum that specifically address issues of coming to the US. I worked one time with an Indian nurse but she did not state whether she trained in India or the US. Good luck with your goals.

HI rexie..thanks for the info,

I came to know that for a physician , the regular 4 year nursing bachelor course will be redueced to 2 years only. I am intrested in doing the acclerated BSN which is a 11 months course. My aim is to get the degree, complete the NCLEX_RN exam get my workpermit and apply for residency here in states. I will be glad if u can provide me the info regarding this.
