What's the best path to become an RN

Published

Hi,

I have a BA in English and Art and want to pursue psych nursing. Because I already have a BA I'm not interested in 4 years of school for my BSN. I don't know if I want my MSN...so I don't want to go into an accelerated MSN program that doesn't require an RN first. Should I get an associates degree in nursing for my RN and then decide later if I want to enter an RN to MSN program?

Thanks!

Look into Accelerated BSN programs in your area. These programs allow students with previous Bachelor degrees in other fields to earn their BSN in about 18 months. They tend to be pricier than associates programs, but will make you more marketable in about the same amount of time.

What Ashley said, in spades. Don't screw around with lower level degrees (I know them's fighting words among those who did, but nobody with better education regrets it).
