Hi,
I am RN with just about 2 years of LTAC experience. I am starting a FNP program this fall. I am currently looking for a new job that will provide me with better experience to help me once I become a FNP. I know the scope from RN to NP is quite different but I want to at least be doing something that I have some autonomy and keep up my clinical and assessment skills. I have always wanted to work in an ED but dont know how beneficial this would actually be? I'm thinking it would expose me to a variety of people with variety of illness/injuries but really don't know how involved the RN is in this setting. Also, I have been thinking about homecare because of the more "normal" hours and I feel they have a lot of autonomy.
Any advice on the best route for gaining experience??
Thanks :)
