Yep, I think you are all right. Sad though, isn't it, that in this time of nursing shortage and the supposed sincere sentiments over what they can do for nurse recruitment, they have no idea that THEY are at the heart of the matter. Gosh, it is so hard to have to start over....I have been there 20 years.....Feels as though a life long relationship is breaking up.....Weird, huh?

over the past year, our clinical manager ( who used to work with us) has really screwed up the unit...she is a money hungry person and lives for the bonuses she gets for coming in under budget..the nurse manager isn't much better and both have control issues.....at least 5 nurses (total of 140 years of experience) have left since september.....many more are interviewing elsewhere.....several docs have left, and although they tell us the unit isn't in danger of closing, i did notice that with our recent renovations (which are ugly ugly ugly), they are not going to bother to tile delivery, and told us that they are ripping up the carpet in the nurses lounge so clear out our lockers or everything will be thrown away ( which i am pretty sure is illegal)... sounds like a potential unit closing to me.. what do you think????
