What is a "year" before switching Specialties?

Just curious about what is considered a year when trying to switch specialties. I was hired on a Step-down ICU back in August and just finished orientation in October. I hope to switch to ICU after a year, does that I mean I apply when I have a year of experience from the hire date (August 2022)? Or do I apply when I have a year of experience on my own (October 2022)? Thanks!

This will vary from facility to facility, as does the time you must work in a position before you are eligible.  More importantly, rather than basing your potential transfer on an arbitrary length of time, wait until you know you're ready to transition.
