What 4 year health degree has a decent starting wage and room for advancement?

Published

I'm in the Health field in college, taking A&P I right now, so I still have time to change things up. I am currently in Pre-PT but I don't think I will be able to do graduate school, so I am trying to find out what my options are with a 4 year degree. I want something that is not going to be a dead end job and I will be able to support myself on without having to live pay check to pay check. I know I might be asking for too much, but any information would be helpful and appreciated.

well, you're on a nursing forum so I'm assuming you have considered nursing :p I actually was pre-nursing starting out, then got my degree in psychology with plans on getting a grad degree, but life happened and now I'm a single mom with a 3yr old. Nursing seems like a great fit for me because there are so many job possibilities after graduation, and if I decide down the road to go back to grad school, there are a lot of options there as well.

I'm really looking forward to the income stability and good pay. It's not an amazing living, but after struggling so many years with just paying the bills, it's going to be amazing to have money left over some day

I'm trying to make sense of the stuff on this site, but there is so much information. Is there like a place for beginners or something so I can begin to understand how to get into nursing and stuff like that?

They have a great site with testimonials form many nurses in different specialties.

Zion, you might try the Pre-Nursing Forum here on allnurses under the Students tab or even your state under Region tab. If your college has a Nursing school, you can go speak with an advisor there. Good luck...
