I am currently enrolled & will start prerequisites in January. I am a mother, in my 30s, with 3 children. All are in school, ages ranging from 7 to 13. I do not have much help. I am concerned about the scheduling. Can anyone share what has been their typical class schedule while in the LPN program at Chattahoochee Tech? Also, can I pick clinical days? When do clinicals start? The prerequisites I can complete while kids are in school. Just concerned about once I am in the program.
Thank you in advance!!

I know this is an old post, but I thought I'd share this information with anyone who is curious.
At the LPN application session, they told us that the first eight weeks of the LPN program will be in class from Monday to Friday 7am-3pm. After that, clinicals begin and the schedule becomes more random. We only be in class two times a week and the other days are in clinicals. The clinicals are three 8 hour shifts or two 12 hour shifts. Clinicals can also happen on weekends.
Because of this, it is highly suggested that you do not work at all or work PRN. I heard some people work nights while attending nursing school. It really depends on you and what you can handle.
Once you get into the LPN program, you cannot pick what days you attend class or clinicals. The schedule will already be made for you. You have work your life around nursing school.
