What do you think about waiting list?

hi all,

i applied so many nursing schools so far, and i got a call from california state university, northridge for absn. they said that you are "alternative" which means that waiting list for the program. they said that "only 36 students are ever accepted ( 18 summer admits and 18 fall admits) and there are typically more than 400 applicants. the number of admitted students will not change". what do you think you guys about my situation? do you think i have still chance to get in the program? i want to know you guy's opinions about this.

thank you!

I was chosen as an alternate for my accelerated nursing program. I was freaked out too. Some of the people that were accepted I question how they even made it. Four people dropped out in the first month. I ended up getting accepted. I did have to sacrifice and move to a small crappy town, but hey I got in! Someone will decline. You have a strong chance. :lol2:

Good for you! What number were you in? and how did you know this?

Similar issues with not being able to get information out of them about attrition rates, average GPAs, statistics on NCLEX passing on which try number, and employability of their graduates. The nursing advisors were unhelpful and rude, and I've heard mixed things about the program. I did take my CNA course through this school and was VERY unimpressed with the organization and clinical teaching/supervision/presence. We had 4 clinical days, and 4 different clinical instructors. :( None of them knew anything about our requirements or signed us off on anything. It was extremely frustrating, and I've heard similar concerns about the RN program clinicals.

I have a previous bachelor's, so I decided to bite the tuition bullet and go for an accelerated BSN. :)

I hope everything works out for your program!!!

So, Which accelerated BSN programs are you going to apply for your future??
