I am a student working on a project for school.
What skills and qualities in particular would you consider most valuable for an OB-Gyn nurse? Pros and Cons of the area? Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Also, may I have your permission to use your responses and link to your threads?
Thanks in advance!

I think the skills and qualities ANY nurse should possess would serve him/her well in OB nursing.
She/he needs to be :
alert, observant, professional, compassionate, intelligent, assertive, an excellent communicator to staff, doctors, and especially patients/family; willing to continually self-educate to stay current; caring, able to cope with huge amounts of stress on the job, willing to work very hard, and have a great measure of integrity-----I think it helps to be a leader, as well..... gosh it goes on and on......
All these qualities are more are important if one wants to be a good nurse. It' s most important to me to strive for EXCELLENCE, not PERFECTION; all else will follow if I don't fail there!
