As you may or may not know, I am a pre-pre nursing student, and have so many things that I am worried about..but I'll take a deep breath and take it one post at a time..Anyway,right now its my personal statement about why I want to be an LPN. I think it has to be under 200 words, but I was planning on writing it in an first person essay. I'll probably post a rough copy, but any suggestions in the meantime?

two things. one, that you are literate; that you can write and organize your thoughts as well as use the english language. second, they want to get an idea of your reasons for wanting to be a nurse. you want to try to make your statement unique in some way and not just a plain narrative. a personal experience is usually something that will catch their attention. they're also trying to weed out anybody who seems kooky in some way. here is a link to the u.s. department of labor on what lpn nursing is. the second site will link you into writings other nurses have made about their views of the nursing profession. these might give you some ideas for your essay. good luck! see you on the student nurse forums!
