Hello. I am in a BSN college program and we get the Thanksgiving breaks and spring breaks and so forth. To answer your question, yes, we get them... BUT there really are NO BREAKS. I got maybe four days to myself over the Xmas break (after finals, getting ready for Xmas, etc.) I studied all spring break and Thanksgiving break. Many of us study over the breaks. The only real break I get is summer, but then again, I studied some this summer to stay on top of the game.
Even after you graduate, to stay fresh in your chosen nursing field, you will want to read to stay on top of new medical and nursing trends. In the end, there probably are no breaks. THE LIFE OF A NURSE! Best wishes!
OP, contact your school. Breaks are not a secret. They'll let you know when the program breaks are. Even in an accelerated program we got vacations. I got married and took 2 vacations during my 1 year BSN program! You'll definitely get time off.
That's definitely good to know... I know I'll probably be studying over the breaks, but at least it's some time away from school and I can see family or whatever over the holidays. I'm not sure if they have next year scheduled out yet, but I'll give them a call sometime next month. Or wait until I get a letter in the mail to see if I got accepted for spring next year. I'll find out next month.

What was your school year like in the nursing program (not pre-nursing)? Did it follow a regular college school year, for the normal ADN program? For example, if school started on Jan 19th next year for colleges would the ADN program follow that? And also have a couple weeks break in between semesters? What about spring break, thanksgiving, Christmas break.. etc? Please fill me in the best you can, I'm really curious about this. Thanks, and sorry so many questions
