Hi everyone
I have recently passed the entrance exam in order to go into a school i have chose in order to start my LVN course. The reason why I chose this school was because its only $17,500 compare to a $31,000 course at a different school. A women I met at a hospital she told me she recently went to the school where I'm about to go. She got screwed over because the school wasn't licensed to teach and was not given her money back, when she was half way of the course that caused her to drop out. I'm left towards what am i going to do. I really want to start the LVN course and I don't want to waste any more time. I'm curious to what a school needs in order to teach an LVN course. The admission who i spoke to is a doctor. Seems nice and friendly, but i don't want to be so naive.
This is the link to the school and I'm wondering if it's legit. http://vsah.com . I've tried reading a lot of reviews on this school, but i haven't found any that has convinced me enough to join this school.

i'm fairly certain there is (quite a bit) more to the story than the lady told you.
(my best guess...private schools often charge a flat fee for a program that is not refundable if you don't complete it.)
essentially what a school needs in order to teach an lvn program is to be accredited by the state's board of nursing.
the school you linked is accredited by the california board of vocational nurses.
bottom of the page, 3rd row up. http://www.bvnpt.ca.gov/education/schools/vn_schools.shtml
the school matching the one you linked has provisional accreditation.
what 'provisional accreditation' means can also be found by searching the bvnpt website: http://www.bvnpt.ca.gov/education/about_education.shtml
...it is important to note that a student who graduates from a program that is on provisional accreditation is still eligible to take the licensure examination...
the bottom line (such as it is), the school you are planning to attend is an lvn program approved by the ca bon and as such, if you complete (and pass) their program you will be eligible to sit for the nclex.
