Ok. I'm a high school student and i've decided I want to become a RN. I want to work in pediatrics, because when I was younger I was in the hospital, ALOT. And the nureses where always really helpful and kind. So I want to be like them, and help other kids. does anyone have any suggestions as to what school I should go to for my BSN in florida?
Thank You.

Here is a list of all the nursing programs in Florida.

Florida has a great mix of good but expensive private colleges and some really good state universities.
You need to pull up the programs of the colleges in the area you might want to consider.
Go over each one for the prerequisites and financing options with your high school counselor. Apply for grants and scholarships whenever possible and as early as possible. Your high school counselor should be able to help you locate these options. If not, make an appointment with a counselor at the different colleges and the nursing departments. Most will have an information packet for you.
Then, visit each one to see the labs they use and ask about the clinical experience. Find out how many hours at each facility and the number of students per instructor.
In Florida, the BSN is the way to go so congrats for deciding that already.

Stick to a school from this list and you'll be okay.
Association of American Universities
From a quick glance down the list U of Florida looks to be the only AAU university in Florida.
College of Nursing - University of Florida

that list leaves out some very good universities in florida as well as other parts of the country.
the university of miami is also a leader in reseach.
why aau? why not aascu? or, any of the other private associations a college could belong to? what advantage is the aau?
for nursing, accreditation is important such as the national league for nursing accrediting commission (nlnac).

or, the commission on collegiate nursing education (ccne)

the schools on florida's ahec site which i linked are accredited.
