What does a RN do? and What Kind are their?

I have to do a reseach paper for one of my class and I decide to do it on RNs. So I was was wonder are there different kind of RNs and what do they do.

Are you in nursing school? Is this paper for a nursing class? I'm asking because a good fundamentals book will have not only information on the history of nursing, but it will also discuss the many different avenues nurses can take throughout their careers. There are many different educational requirements, a huge number of specialties and the door is literally wide open for a various number of occupations within the field of nursing. Your local library will have books about the career. Actually, even doing a search here on allnurses will show you a lot of different forums for nurses in various specialties and in locations around the world.
