Hello all,
My wife and I are Aussies living and working abroad. Typical story really fed up with the level of renumeration that our governments see fit to give us. Have heard an interesting rumour of person who recently returned and is currently working agency in Melbourne. She is ICU trained as my wife and I are and it is reported that she is earning 50-60 dollars an hour with a guaranteed 5 shifts a week. Interesting but you know how it is with rumours, often they turn out to be false. Want to come home but don't want top lose to much of current income. Can anybody give me information about this area, in any part of Australia. Thanks to all.

Well Brisbane remains so cheap that they scream at every cent BUT there is a lot of call for agency nurses here at the moment. Codeblue is the highest payer but also the last called.
You know how it is........................

You can contact (by email) the agencies directly and enquire about their rates of pay. They will only be too happy to try to recruit you. Yeah, us Brisbane nurses are one of the lowest paid in OZ but standard of living is pretty good here.
