Ok, to those of you that used storage clipboards for clinicals. What did you put in them?? It has been a while since I have been in clinicals and I am starting in a couple weeks for my RN. So, I bought the clipboard but what do I put in there that I wouldn't have in my pockets?? (Besides patient info.)Just curious...I'm an organizer...I obsess about these things:eek:

Hello,
Black color ink pens, a tape measure, or ruler, tape, posties, extra watch (an inexpensive one), name badge (so you will not lose it...I usualy get two just in case I lose mine or forget it) Scrap paper or paper, hand lotion and santizer, phone numbers of the departments in the hospital, change (at least a dollar fifty for drinks), acohol pads, tape cutters, an acorn for the o2 on the wall, one package of admission paperwork to be completed by the patient and his/her family members and lastly, a picture of your pet, children, husband/bf/gf/lover/wife and significant others (when you are having a tough and rough day, Lastly, mints. Oh do not forget your own headache medicine (different from the floor stock) and what else you would like to have iin it.

Very helpful, thank you.

What kind of clipboard is that??? That must start getting heavy after a while :chuckle i thought i carried along alot of stuff but now i feel better. My nursing asks for a portfolio. Is that the same thing? We are supposed to carry our CPR Cards and Insurance card and other paperwork.
