So I applied at a local hospital for a nurse's aide position. I don't have a CNA cert., but they dont "require" one, it is just desired..

I applied for two different positions, one titled Nurse Aide N3S, and one called Nurse Aide E1. They are both part time evening shift, with the same exact description.. I got two emails back from them, the one for the N3S said i have met the minimum requirements, and they may consider my app, but they are continuing a search for more qualified applicants.

The second was for the E1 position and was more along the lines of they review resumes based on when they are received and if they are interested they will call me back.

Soooooo my question is: does anyone know what those letters mean, and why I got two different responses back..

btw, the app was for Reading Hospital, in PA if anyone works there, you may have a better idea.

They most likely refer to different departments, floors, units, specialties, etc. Such abbreviations will be facility-specific in their meanings.

The two positions you applied for may be on different units/specialties (as mentioned above) and so have different requirements. For example, it would be much easier for someone to be hired to a med/surg floor than a neuro ICU.

Oh, thanks. That makes sense, I figured it would be something like that, just making sure. =]
