What to do next?

So, I am a junior--working on a bachelors in biology. However, I am a analytical person and do not really know what to do when I graduate, or should I? With the economy tanking...job losses across the board....and panic on the New York Stock Exchange...I do not know what to do. I keep on flipping back and forth in my mind, do I really want to become a composite science teacher (in a public school setting), do I want to go to medical school, do I want to drop out and get my ADN, do I want to finish and get a 2bachleors in nursing? There are so many opportunities, that I do not know what to do. I am interested in nursing, but then again I am interested in teaching/public office/nursing.

So, with that said anyone have any ideas?

Do any nurses out there work in ER, ICU? If so, how do you like it? How did you get to that job? What is your education background--if you don't mind sharing?

If I go the nursing route I would like to work in ER or ICU and possibly do something with Star flight/EMS in Austin, TX.

Thanks for all/any comments.

I am just trying to get a feel out there in the nursing world. I am a certified pharmacy tech, so I have a little health care experience. I took health science classes in high school and went a round to different hospitals and shadowed, and well that did not really help.

Best,

Matthew

Life is not easy, but you need to find something that you will enjoy for the rest of your life, and i'm trying to find that. :)

If you're interested in both teaching and nursing you could combine the two. We need more nurse educators. You can still work in the hospitals while teaching as well. So it's kind of like the best of both worlds. Just a thought. :]

The exact educational requirements for that route I'm not too sure of, but that's all very easy information to find out with the use of the web.

Best of luck to you with whatever you decide.
