What type of are all of you using?

I need to make an investment and any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I just got my first year's coverage from NSO a couple of months ago. $45. I knew it couldn't stay that cheap... but I guess they want to be nice to those of us who just graduated and have bills to catch up on :)

Definitely worth covering your butt. No one has to know you have it until you need it, but it's a good feeling knowing that if some patient is a big enough jerk to sue a nurse, I'll have representation without having to cash in my house to pay the lawyer.

There are pro and cons to this ?. I do not carry because the theory goes if you have it(ins) they will come after it. As a nurse there will always be a bigger pocket to dig out of, in a lawsuit than yours, so just keep them empty, your pockets. The best thing is to do a good job, know what your doing, question things you do not understand or believe to be correct, learn somehthing new ever time you go to work, and take care of ever pt like they where your family and dying until proven otherwise.. gotta go someone been shot

Here in the great state of Texas, will cost a nurse approximately twice as much with much less coverage than in other parts of the country.

I just applied to NSO for and will pay $232/yr for $300,000 aggregate (whatever that means!) and $100,000 per claim. This is a quote for someone who has never had anything happen to her. Much, much less than the $1 million maximum advertised on their site.

Also, Texas nurses can no longer get liability insurance through their homeowners' policies. As my insurance agent said, as well as the NSO rep.. Texas is just different.

I'm getting the liability insurance anyway, figuring that something is better than nothing. Although, if I'm ever sued and a patient/plaintiff every tries to take my house, I'll burn it down before anyone takes possession.

I've decided not to breathe a word of my possession of a liability insurance policy to anyone at work.

Merry Christmas!
