I am a pre-nursing student and will tour LVN programs/schools. What should I be looking for or ask during the tours of LVN programs? Please reply back. Thanks.

Ask about the school's NCLEX pass rate. If it is below 60 to 65 percent, I would reconsider attending that school. You might want to ask about job placement after graduating, and about NCLEX assistance immediately upon completing the nursing program.

I would ask for a list of what is included in the program fees. Are uniforms, books, shots, etc. included? Our program also includes IV certification and an NCLEX review course, which are great bonuses.
Where are the clinicals? What experience do the instructors have? Are they still actively practicing and current in the field?
What percentage of students make it all the way through the program? What percentage of graduates have jobs lined up by the time they graduate? What is the average starting wage of the school's graduates?
Trust your gut, too. A supportive atmosphere that you are comfortable in counts for a lot.
