What length and gauge needle for Rh Immune globulin

Hello

May need to give Rh immune globulin tomorrow and would like to be sure on the size of needle.. I think it is 23 gauge 1" or 1 1/2 " depending on body weight and size of patient.. Can you use 21 gauge or 25 gauge?? or 5/8" needle.. Please clarify..

Rh is an intramuscular injection, so a 23-25 gauge needle, 1 to 1.5". Use a 5/8" needle if the woman is really skinny/weighs less than 130 lbs.

All I know about this injection is it is thick and it hurts! Use a large gauge needle and push slowly!:crying2:
