Also, if I am a graduate of 4 year college will people not try to hire me as overqualified?

Great... presuming you have good presentation & clinical skills. Good luck!

With your degree alone, you'll already have a huge edge on nearly all in the field.

Would people assume that I would leave soon because I might use my degree (although it's a liberal arts degree)?

As the hiring sup, I'd have that on my mind.

You may wanna be proactive about the issue at the interview... or even before that.

Should I just hide the degree from my resume? Then that would leave me with 4 years of gap. How would I explain it?

No, no, no! This is a huge asset for you.

If you're really serious about being in this field, address it upfront. Highlight it. Let 'em in your letter and resume. Let 'em know your intentions and goals for the future. Be pleasant... smile when you talk with them... even on the phone.

Research the facility before you go in. Mention something interesting that you read about them.

Tell 'em you plan on working for them, and that you're dedicated. And that in a year or so you'll likely be considering furthering your contribution... maybe by pursuing a nursing degree... if all the above is true, of course.

All the best!

About how many candidates apply for each opening? I want to know the competition rate.
