congratulations to the newly accepted, the alternates and the ones who have been scheduled for an interview. What I would like to know is what are your academic stats per GPA, gRE---everything. i need to know. And also the certifications b4 applying.

I have a degree in English and taught for two years, worked as a Paramedic for 6years and presently I'm working in a Transplant ICU at a teaching Hospital. I made B's in my inoganic Chemistries(yet to take organic), B's in my Biologies. I'm presently is a ADN-BSN program. Plan to take CCRN, GRE and PALS.

What can I do to improve my chances with these present stat.

Thanks .

Can you get your hands on the scoring criteria for the school you're trying to get into? I just went in and ask for it and they gave it to me. It mapped out exactly what I needed to get in and the value of each part of the entrance criteria in point value. I'm sure you know the basics-what GRE schore you need, your GPA, etc. But, what I found interesting was the points assigned to each-the difference between points awarded for a 4.0 vs. a 3.6-4.0 gave me 10 points while a 3.6 only awarded 6 points, etc. THAT is where you can make up some ground. Additionally, if you were an English teacher, you should have NO problem w/ any eassay requirement. Eassays are usually worth ALOT-25 pts for a PERFECT eassay at my school.

Once you complete your BSN and start your application process for anesthesia school, I recommend taking graduate level courses that are in the anesthesia curriculum (i.e. physiology, theory, stats etc). Earn A's in these classes. It will not only lighten your load once you are in but will demonstrate that you can do well at the graduate level. It will also show that you are serious in your pursuit. Good Luck!
