I'm a school nurse for a small school that includes grades K-8. In past years we have used the Making a Difference for an absence curriculum for grades 7/8 and The Wonder Years for Grades 5-6. However, I am feeling that these programs are getting outdated and looking for something else to teach puberty/sex ed to grades 5-8. I need something that begins very basic and includes hygiene for grade 5 then moves up into more detail for the older students. What do you use for programs?

I have two recommendations, but I will tell you both are comprehensive sex ed, not abstinence only.
HealthSmart - Home - HealthSmart (We use this for 5th grade at my school, during which we introduce hygiene and puberty is taught more in depth in Grade 6)
Get Real: Sex Education that Works - WHY Get Real? | Get Real (We use for Grades 6, 7, 8 - I personally have used it for Grades 7 and 8 and cannot say enough good things about it).
