What happens if you only complete the BSN part of a BSN/MSN program?

Published

Hello,

I have been applying to several BSN/MSN programs and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what would happen if one entered a program and upon entering found that the school they were going to really didn't offer the speciality you wanted. Ie, if you enter a combined BSN/MSN program and you finish the BSN part but find out that the speciality you are interested in is pediatrics and the school you are at doesn't offer it, can you switch schools and will you receive your BSN? I know some of the schools don't give the BSN, just the MSN. I might be better off I guess just applying to accelerated BSN programs and not the combination but I am sure I am not the only one with this question. Thanks.
