I have been looking into the lvn program and I'm very nervous about the math portion of the test you need to enter the program. I had my CNA but I don't remember there being a lot of math involved. I don't want to just give up my goal because of my lack of confidence in math but true is I'm bad at it. Never caught onto algebra and fractions were hard for me as well..it makes me shameful to say that...but I really want to do this and I'd like to study before so I'm well equipped with the knowledge. Any advice on books that have practice test with it? Any other advice would be greatly appreciated too :) thanks.

Now that you are older (even if only by a year or two), it is likely that you will find learning and mastering math concepts and calculations much easier. Brain development varies a lot from person to person, and many of us seem to develop math-related abstract reasoning ability a bit later than others.
Look for study guides for the test you will take online, and watch YouTube tutorial videos. Then, practice, practice, practice.
You'll probably be fine.

I had to brush up on math skills for a placement tests. Just find out which subjects they cover (my school had the subjects covered on their website) and google it. I found everything I needed for free; lessons, worksheets, practice tests. I was terrible at math in high school and its come much easier to me 7 years later.
Thank you both! I'm not even sure what school to go to. They have a vo tech program in my area but I'm not sure how "good" it is. It's a year course. I plan to go talk with them this coming week, their website though does not offer study guides or anything really..it did say you have to test to get into the program. I want to make sure that this course is accredited and the board of nursing approves it..at least that is what I was told I need to look for lol this is all so new to me. :)
You can look up on your board of nursing to see what kind of status they have, same with NLN accreditation. I googled reviews on all schools I was interested in, it definitely made my choice clear. Good luck
