What to expect from Air Force Recruiter?

Published

Hello All, I have made initial email contact with a healthcare recruiter for the Air Force voicing my interest in joining and requesting information. He did reply (!!!!!) and send an initial email with some requirements and benefits to commission, also requested I email my license, resume, CV...etc. Which I have done. What should I expect from here? How long did it take for you to get contacted after the initial request for information? I am dying of excitement, fear, and enthusiasm, but I do not want to appear over eager or pushy by reaching out to soon. any information is greatly appreciated!

Is this for Active Duty or Reserve? Your next steps are probably some more paperwork and either MEPS or an interview, but that could be months from now. Definitely badger your recruiter, don't feel bad; nothing wrong with eagerness to serve. Email them and then text them when they don't return your emails. Weekly updates are an appropriate expectation in my opinion.

My case is rarer, but my first contact was in December, scroll approved in March, and final approvals pending for a tentative oath date in October. And that was with a MEPS snafu that resulted in a 3-month hold on my package. Most people on here seem to be at 1 year+ for their stuff.

Even if you breeze through the process, you've got time. Get familiar with the PT standards for your age, work on it if you aren't already atleast satisfactory, study the relevant AISR CPGs for your specialty, etc.
