Please describe what is involved being a nurse on a corrections unit? What kind of tasks do they LVN/LPNs do with the inmates? Is it a scarry environment? Do you have to adopt a tougher or harder persona? For the most part, I'm a pretty friendly, happy, and outgoing person. I'll probably have to play that down or maybe they'll try to play me. Please give me "a day in the life" type senario. Thank you nurses. I'm very grateful for all the help I've recieved with previous questions.

My cousin she is a Texas correctional officer and she told me do not work at a prison only if it's your last resort.
she also gave me this advise don't be fooled the woman's prison is just as dangerous as the Guys
1. do not wear wedding rings or jewelry
2. do not say anything about your personal life
3. be polite but on your guard at all times and be aware of your personal space
those are just a few things she stated you can always watch the prison shows on TV. theirs a good one about woman's prison life but I never have seen any nurses in the infirmary on the shows only the ones where they fall in love and help the inmate escape:eek:
