These are set by the Joint Commission. Here is a link. Off to the right, you can see the different core measures. For example, acute MI, pneumonia, HF, etc all have core measures in place. If a patient presents with this disease process, then these measures must be taken.

My patient has respiratory failure, which is not listed. Does this mean my patient does not meet core measures criteria?

I'm working on paperwork for clinical, but my instructor did not go over "core measures criteria". I've tried googling this but still could not figure it out. I included the questions to give an idea of what I'm talking about, I am not asking for answers to my clinical paperwork. Just trying to understand what this means and how to answer.
