Hi! I just recently finished my pre-reqs at SAC and would like to know what my chances are of getting into the ADN nursing program at Santa Ana College in the Spring '07 smester. I received an A in Microbiology, Anantomy, and English and a B in Physiology, which means I got 35 out of the 40 points possible. I'm on the waiting list at Santa Ana and will apply to Goldenwest, Saddleback, and Cypress. If anyone knows others who were in similar situations and what happened to them, please let me know. Im very anxious to find out how long I may have to wait. Also I'd like to know my chances at the other community colleges that I will apply to. Thank you!

Looks like we're on the same boat. I'm in the middle of taking my CNA class right now at Southwestern Community College and I have one more class to take, which is Microbio. Basically, all the schools down here in San Diego that offers nursing programs are impacted. At my school, there is a 2 year waiting period at the most, which I think is totally ridiculous. You would think that since Nursing is so high in demand these days that more programs opportunities would open up, but no. It's really frustrating, but what can you do? I hoped this helped. Take care, and good luck.

I don't know about those schools in particular, but I would recommend taking the chem classes and applying at cal states. I know my school doesn't maintain a waiting list and as far as I know the others don't either. You have good grades and I think that you may get in faster to a BSN program.

I was on the wait list at SAC for about 6 months I think and got called one morning to fill in a slot someone dropped out of. Make sure Angela in the nursing office or Becky Miller has all your contact numbers. I think that day was in August....been so long ago.
I don't think thay went by point scale back then, just went down the list. Keep us posted. If you do get in, get real familiar with folks in the skills lab, it's a great resource and great place to get to know your fellow students.
Thank you everyone for the help!
