What Bsn Program You Suggest

Published

I got a BBA and I am going to start my pre reqs for nursing this summer

What BSN programs in GA would you suggest? I think it may be best to apply for a BSN instead of ADN/RN program

Thanks

I would go for the BSN. Since you already have a BBA, it will take you about the same amount of time to do the BSN as it would an ADN b/c you've got so much transfer credit for the first two years.

I don't recommend Clayton State University for people who are mature students. However, if you're looking to just get your degree and get out, go ahead and apply. It is a public school so its cheap for GA state residents and it'll do as back-up school.

Why you not suggest Clayton State? it is not a good school? Im worried that I wont be able to get into a BSN program b/c my undergrad gpa was under 3.0. However, I have 80% of my MBA completed

What school did you go to?

That's what I was thinking about. It would take me two years to complete my pre-reqs anyways so why not just go ahead and apply for a ADN/RN. I was going to Georgia Perimeter but just decided to go to Georgia State University.....or Emory University.

What part of GA?

Is GA STATE hard to get accepted into? Do you complete pre reqs before applying to nursing school

North Georgia College and State U has a lot of satellite campuses around Atlanta, and is a pretty good school (I went there). Emory is the best if you can afford it. The best nurses I work with went to Emory. Georgia State is also a good school, but I know they do clinicals at Grady which is good or bad depending on how you look at it. It really doesn't matter if you get your BSN or not, they don't get paid any more at least not where I work. It will help in the future for Supervisor positions. We have a lot of Kennesaw State and Mercer clinical students who seem to like their program. Good luck!

Ditto - Emory's financial aid is more impressive than you would think, so give it a try...

Im at Emory now finishing up my junior yr. Financial aid here is definitely available, and prob more than you think. Let me know if you have any questions, whether about fin aid or just gen questions re the program.

Just for the record, I moved here from Hawaii (born and raised) last summer and am extremely pleased with the program and not a day goes by that I regret coming here.
