What are some of your biggest pains or problems you encounter in your day-to-day work as a nurse? What are some of the annoying/ tedious/ redundant parts of your job you wish you could change? It could be anything, whatever makes you tick and wish would be improved/ made better. It could also be non-work related as well.
thanks for your time, your input is much appreciated!

My fave RN v. PT: My old job had all sorts of restrictions where PT didn't have to get a patient OOB: INR>3.5, PLT count below 100, H/H below 8/24. I get that it's to CYA if you drop them, but then the surgeon gets all pissed and I end up having to ambulate their patients anyway. IDK if PT had said an RN had to be present and help with the session, or that they needed the PA to approve them working with PT in these circumstances, but they'd spend so much time poring over the chart and lab values for patients to get out of sessions. Imagine how much time they could save and how much more efficient if that wasn't a step. Ask the RN if you can work with them and if there's anything extra you need to know. I'll rattle those labs from memory and save you the leisurely 20 minute stroll through their chart.
Also, thanks to all more experienced about all the poop digging solutions. I've also added putting gloves on the patient after I finish with the cleaning if they're pooping q2h and are repeat offenders. I don't have time to clean your fingernails more thoroughly than mine q2h, esp since I can't cut your fingernails bc we don't carry the supplies to do so.
