Did you have a day that was amazing? Was it a patient that made you feel like a million bucks? Did you witness someone else do something great? I always like to hear these stories because it reminds me why I got into nursing.

I was a CNA at the time, working on a busy physical rehab floor. An elderly male pt had been with us for quite some time s/p CVA. He and I had the same sense of humor and we got along wonderfully, laughing and teasing each other all the time. We were working on toileting every 2 hours to try and retrain his bladder, which had been a long and arduous process for him. He was a max-2 assist to get up and transfer to the bedside commode. His nurse and I were transferring him and as we pulled his pants down, he peed on my shoe. Well, you would have thought he had just won the World Series the way the 3 of us carried on that day. There was dancing involved, and many high fives. I still smile to this day when I think about it. :)
Yep, only in nursing are we so happy when someone goes pee or poop.
