WGU pre-licensure

Has or is anyone attending WGU pre-licensure nursing? If so what is it like to learn nursing online?

Only the didactic content (classroom) is online. There are nearly a thousand hours of simulation/ lab and clinical that are completed in person.

Okay, what about the classroom work and study? Does each class has PowerPoint to study?

Each course has study materials, e-books, live cohorts and such. It is up to you to access and learn the material- but the Course Instructor is available for 1:1 and group help sessions.

You really would do well to talk to an enrollment counselor by going to the link I've provided. It is a rigorous 2.5 year program (including summers) and not for everyone.

Hello,

I am in the WGU BSN Pre-Licensure Program starting Term 3 (half way point). If you are not a self starter and not good with time management this is not the program for you. My background: I am a full time working LVN, married, mom of a 3 year old. It can be quite challenging juggling all those hats and still do school but it CAN be done if you have the drive and ambition. This is NOT the easy way out although it caters to the working individual. You still have to do the work. Every term we have had people drop out of our cohort or not make the grade needed to keep going. Now the positives! I love this program...absolutely love it...WGU's passing rate for NCLEX prepared nurses are top tier...the course work...labs...clinicals...have been great...I'm so glad I've been blessed with this opportunity to get my RN throught them and I wouldnt choose another school.

Best Wishes
