WGU-BSN Pre-licensure Labs/Clinicals-Keep Job?

Nursing Students Western Governors

Updated:   Published

I am looking into 's BSN Pre-Licensure program. I've seen how the clinicals are scheduled but still not clear about how labs are scheduled. Can anyone explain how that part works?

Also, like to know if anyone was able to maintain/keep their job while fulfilling the clinical and lab requirement.

Thank You

Hello,

I graduated from back in December of 2022. The way labs worked for my cohort was they were scheduled on the weekends. I don't know if that's how that works now or not? Also I worked full time and have kids. I guess it depends on your job. I had a job where I could study while I worked.

Does anybody know if we'll be doing exam in the lab at ? I was told we do the lab on campus and then do the assignment and exams at home. I don't know how that is.

Hello!!

Recent graduate. So for labs, you do have an exam but it's for the skills check offs. You are in the lab room by yourself and they record you checking off for the skills part. Everything else though is done at home on your laptop.

Is this for all the labs? Microbiology, and  A&P?

I have another question. Are the classes fully online or you have classes that you have to be on zoom for the classes while the teacher teaches?

Not sure about Micro and A&P. I went to a community College for those. But for the nursing courses you do.

Nope. They are fully online. You CAN join a zoom class where they teach you the material. But it's not required that you attend. It's nice to join though because the professors there teach you the material very well. ? hope that helps.
