Western University MSN-E Application Time!

Published

Well, I thought this day would never come, but the application period for Western U's MSN-E program starts a week from today!

I'm beyond nervous, as I've been working on this career change for over three years now. Every time I write a little of my personal statement I get a little shaky. This is so unlike me too, I'm usually cool as a cucumber.

Anyone else here planning to apply for 2012? Are you as nervous as I am?

Hey Maseca: What time did you get the acceptance email? Hope its right about that time tomorrow as well. Lets hope they are consistant!

Hey guys! Did the counselors or admin specifically say that we would hear back starting tomorrow??? All I recall is that they gave out approximate wait times as in "you'll hear back within 2 - 3 weeks"....

Regardless, I hope that they changed around their waitlist procedure so that they actually give people numbers so that those who are waitlisted don't feel too much in limbo.

Hi Mochikat,

They did not, but we are hoping that tomorrow will be our lucky and happy day!

Also, accordingly to last year forum, most people heard back on March 10th through March 16th and they have until March 28th to accept the offer. Others got their denial letters on March 18th and acceptance letters on March 19th and so on...

Thanks for all the comments and the info everyone! I'm there with you all - the sooner we find out the better...like most of you, I feel the same - once we find out, we can FINALLY move ON...and go forward!

Hey mochikat, we were told that they were not assigning numbers to the waitlist. Basically, if someone is waitlisted, and if a spot opens up, all the people waitlisted will be re-evaluated. So no numbers... and you could possibly get a call as late as the first week of classes!! How crazy would that be! Good luck!

The thing is though, they've done the process quite differently this year than last. Last year everyone but the early acceptance people were notified about their acceptance within the same week or so. This year they gave out a batch of acceptances in the middle of Februrary. Who knows how it will work going forward. I did get my acceptance 2.5 weeks after interviewing, so that's some clue.

Ah!!! This worries me because it means there are less open spots for us!

Do you know about how many acceptance letters they gave out in Feb?

I'm not sure how many we're given out but it's likely 10 or so plus early acceptance people. But I'm sure not everyone decided to accept the offer.

Thanks for the info Maseca! :)

No acceptances yet ?

No acceptances yet ?

Don't cry. We still have hope!

Yeah, we don't know for sure if they're sending out notices starting today. They might be waiting until Monday to avoid getting bombarded with calls on a Friday once people realize they've made their decisions. I don't think anyone has called a counselor to confirm that today is THE day.
