Just to be yourself and really show your personality. If you get an interview, they're not concerned about your stats or educational background at that point, they just want to get to know you and what you'd bring to the program.

I wish it was that simple - it's crazy competitive now and sometimes things just don't correlate. As I've said before it seems more experience = less of a chance to get in. Once you're at interview stage I don't believe all else is equal still.
if I could give recs - apply at the 2-3 year mark, work dayshift in a CV/CICU, high acuity, level 1 trauma, etc. or know someone in connection with the school or hospital
