hey!
i recently just got a new job as a nursing assistant at allegheny general in a stepdown unit. I was told if i get certified at a nursing assistant i can eventually transfer to west penn, which has me looking at west penn nursing school instead of upmc.
has anyone attended this school either recently or at all?
i really want to know how prepared it made you to take boards, and what you liked and disliked about the school
thanks so much!

I attended there, just graduated in June. I complained a lot but nursing school is difficult everywhere (we certainly earn our education). They're difficult and the grading scale is steep, but the class size is small and everyone knows you by name. They definitely make sure you work hard for your career, and it made me a better nurse. They gave me a solid education and I was doing things in clinical earlier than most people with 4-year degrees. Don't get me wrong-- I'll get my BSN soon. But to get started as an RN, West Penn was one of the best decisions I've made.
