Hello, everyone, I am applying to the nursing program for fall 2017 at WGT.My GPA is 3.4, my teas score is not that great.I already have my CNA.I have A's and B's for science.I am worried GPA wise and teas score because they are not that great. Please share your story and I hope we can support each other until the end.
How is that negativity? I was just trying to inform those who will get accepted. Passing the NCLEX is what nursing school is all about, therefore I thought sharing information on the pass rate of the school was very vital information since you'll spend thousands of dollars for the program. And I am applying to multiple schools for next year, but now finding out that the pass rate is low, WGTC is probably on the back burner. But of those who are going , just keep that in mind. You may even want to ask what happen at the upcoming meeting , many schools have a bad year but ask why. I was just trying to help.
It's not about the pass rate that matters, it's about students sticking to get her to achieve a common goal!! I'm sure they would not be accredited if they were not up to standard with ACEN's regulations and requirements of curriculum! I'm sure there are many factors as to why the pass rate is low, and I am sure ACEN has already stepped in to inquire as to why? ACEN WILL pull their accreditation if they do not take corrective measures immediately!!! So, you see a bunch of people on here excited waiting for acceptance letters. And you decide to take time out of your busy schedule to bring negativity to a very positive thread.. Sheesh I so apologize that you are so unhelpful and negative!! It was unnecessary in my opinion, but obviously we do not agree! So I leave it at that!
WGT nursing page has very different stats... FYI
NCLEX Pass Rate for the time period of May 1, 2015 — April 30, 2016 80.56%
Student Completion Rate for the time period of May 1, 2015 — April 30, 2016 86 %
A benchmark of 70% of students at West Georgia Technical College will successfully complete the Associate Degree Nursing Program within 150% (9 semesters) of the time from entry into the program.
I think it definitely depends on the student itself because I we can rely on people to hand us everything we are adults and I have done my research to know that what we learn is not enough. You have to go above and beyond your goal. So let's get all the negativity away and let's be happy for what we accomplish! I'm so ready for Monday í ½í¹Œí ½í¹Œí ½í±í ½í±
I never intended to discourage anyone from going to the school. Its public information that someone may not have access to, you are correct the NCLEX Pass Rate for the time period of May 1, 2015 — April 30, 2016 is 80.56% which is combined from the passed two years , but FYI according to the GA BOARD OF NURSING that passing rate dropped more than 20% in a single year. (86.21 in 2015 & 61.60 in 2016) If you ask me thats a drastic drop. Im confused on why it doesn't concern you. http://sos.ga.gov/PLB/acrobat/Forms/38%20Reference%20-%20Nursing%20Education%20Program%20Results%20(NCLEX).pdf You are literally dedicating your life to this school , me personally i'd more want than 61.90% guarantee of passing. I would definitely ask questions. And if the rate continues to drop they will loose their accreditation. I am not arguing just sharing vital facts.
Good luck to those accepted , and good luck on your journey to becoming the best nurse possible.
And that is where you are wrong you don't dedicate your life to the school you dedicate your life to nursing and if it takes other tools to pass the Nclex than best believe that's what I will do. Everyone learning process is different I can only speak for myself. I don't rely on just the books they give me I go above and beyond. But thanks for the information it's good to know!
