Hello everyone,
I started the application process with West Coast University in North Hollywood, and I am having my financial aid appointment soon but I would like to know from other current students in West Coast University or students who have graduated an example of how much was their tuition? I currently have all my prerequisites done except the Algebra Math because I took Statistics in community College, BUT I am already enrolled in an Algebra Math for this Winter 2022. I am also missing the Philosophy class which I am also enrolled for this Winter 2022, and missing Anthropology class which I will be taking for Spring 2022. The reason why I am missing the Anthropology and Philosophy classes is because it looks like the classes that I did take are not accepted by West Coast University, so I will be taking those two to replace the ones rejected. I enrolled to West Coast University for June 2022, so by that time, I should be done with those three classes that are missing.
Can anyone who was done with all classes required by West Coast University and started classes with the THREE required courses that must be taken at West Coast give me an example of the tuition cost? I am planning to pay out of pocket but not sure yet.

@Jesse323 I transferred all the required pre reqs and starting with the required classes. The tuition is based of a semester. So basically its not based entirely on the number of classes your taking per semester , it just depends on how many semesters youll be at west coast. With that being said the less classes u have to take will decrease your time there and thus decrease the semesters. A semester is around 18,000 dollars. If you transfer all the required courses your looking at 5 semesters and one quarter. I would forsure ask your financial aid advisor for more information , but this is what I was given so hope this helps!

Thank you so much for the response. I was able to meet with a financial aid repersentative from West Coast University. Basically my tuition would be around $39,000 per year. I was given the options on how to pay for school. I only qualified for $632 for a grant ? and around $9,000 in the student loans. The rest will be private loans. I am more interested in paying out of pocket BUT I would need to make monthly payments of about $3,900. Which of course is ALOT. Unless I gave like a down payment of about $20,000 to $25,000. Not sure yet. ? Will see what happens.

Hey,
I am also starting my application as well however I am getting mixed feels about this school after reading reviews about how all they care about is their money?! I am so confused on what to believe and want to hear also from current or graduated students from the BSN program.

I just started my first term at the ontario campus. What people have been saying about the school is 100% true. During the application process, Admissions were active in responding to questions and emails but once you are scheduled to start, they completely ignore you. I'm on the second day of the term and I cannot get anyone to respond to me. During orientation they stress about asking questions but no one will answer them. Admissions do not answer phone calls, do not reply to emails, do not respond to your voice mails. My financial aid officer has not responded to my emails either. Today, I emailed registrar and guess what...no reply. I have 14 days to refund all money back to financial aid and private loans and will most likely go that route.
Hi @Rogue21cal,
Let us know how it goes. It really sucks to see how a very expensive school takes advantage of their students! ?

I'm a current MSN student at West Coast University and so far would not recommend at least the online schooling portion. If I were doing it over, I would not waste money here, but wait till I had the time and energy to devote to a traditional brick-and-mortar program. The teachers don't seem like they care all that much, and I could learn as much from just buying a textbook and reading it (quite literally, that is what most of my classes consist of). Instructors have simply referred me to help desks or stated, "just read the information we've already given you" in response to questions for further clarification. started in the FNP track and will not be continuing because I don't feel like I can get an education I can stand behind..
I think you are paying for getting the degree to attach to your name and not much else and they ARE accredited- so, if the degree will help your career goals, then great I guess? Except that probably is pretty crappy if you're a patient on the receiving end of that. Of course, I haven't actually finished the program so maybe things would change down the line.
They also have revamped some of their programs so if you want to switch specialties (FNP to education track, for example) you have to start all over, no course credits transfer.
Anyway, if online is your only option, I don't know how West Coast compares to others, but as a whole I would not recommend.
