Just Interviewed for Wellness Nurse Position. Essentially assistant to Director. Anyone know about this company? Just bought out Emeritus Senior Living in Cape May Court House NJ

I did not find Brookdale to be a good company to work for. Too much emphasis on sales and marketing, not nearly enough on resident care. They also accepted any resident with assets and a pulse, nevermind that they were wanderers or sex offenders or had a violent past. They'd just hand me the file on a prospective resident and say 'you figure out how to take care of them'. I lasted all of three months. I honestly hope they've changed for the better since 2008.

Anyone have any thoughts about Diversicare? I am considering a position and after reading this long, but educational post about LTC facilities, I am also wondering....did any DON's walk into a place knowing administrator's weren't interested in your concerns? What did you do about this? Any success stories on how your facility started off in bad shape and then got better with you and your expertise? How did you accomplish this? Looking forward to these stories!
