I took NC1 today and passed with an A. I just don't understand how the weighted system works. I've never experienced that before. Anybody care to explain? Thanks!

Okay Melissa, I will take a stab at it. Weighted exams "weigh" different questions at different percentages of the total score. For instance questions that are multiple choice may not count as much as fill in the blank or essay questions. In instances of all multiple choice questions...certain subject matter may count for more than others. Make sense? Well, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it. (atleast until someone comes up with a better one) :typing

I was lead to understand that level of difficulty is also a factor. (I may be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time!) I just finished A&P and got an "A", even though in some of the areas, my marks were only 65 - 75%. If you get a lower percentage of difficult questions correct, you would get a better mark than someone who got a higher percentage of the easier questions correct. I was lead to understand that the answer to one question affects the difficulty of the next question. Ie: if you get question #1 right, you get a more difficult question for #2. If you get #1 wrong, you get an easier question next.) I do know that a friend and I took the same exams at the same time and both qot different questions. I did talk to Excelsior about how these exams were marked, but didn't get much information about it, just that not all questions were created equal. This probably only confuses things, but its how it was explained to me!
