Weekend schedule - seeking feedback

That is a very hard way to start HH u will,be doing mostly admissions, u have to have a very good understanding of the OASIS process, there is minimal supports available on the weekends unless ur office is open and running.

What kind of orientation wil you have? There is sooooo much to learn i. HH, it takes a good 6 months to feel comfortable.

U might want to think about a mpn-fri position first.

I do twelve hour days weekend package. Though not a new nurse, I was new to home care when I started these hours. I have up to 10 units for 12 hour shift. (a few times 11 and 12 units). I do mainly straight visits which are 1 unit each. I do a lot of daily wound care or daily Lovenox. It is very busy. I enjoy it, though. I know many to most of my clients on most days so that makes it much easier (as opposted to all new people each day). It takes strong organization and time management skills to do about one visit per hour and sometimes I barely have time to find a bathroom. I do some admissions, resumptions, and recerts, too. I understand that I will have a lot of learning to do. I am going to ask in depth about their support and orientation length. I've been a nurse for nine years, and I'm looking for something flexible enough to help me through school. Thanks very much for the info. I am not familiar with Oasis, but I picked up MDS pretty quickly. I think if I had good training I could learn.

Redhead the job description. Main duty is admissions and care plan development. Sounds like weekend star of cares. Those can take hours per patient?

Sounds like you will be doing lots of admits. I would say three admits per day is doable. Anything more and you'll be working over 12 hours a day. There's a lot to learn for admits so be prepared and make sure you have a long orientation. Also be prepared for some follow up phone calls on your days off. Good luck! :)

Doing admits is when I lose money. $55 per admit, but if it takes me 3-4 hours to complete the visit, paper work. charting, phone calls that's not good money. I may make only $110 for a full day.
