Just wondering what your companies policies are?If you have a patient that you project a visit once weekly is that
Once a calendar week (i.e. Monday one week and maybe Tuesday the next week)
or
This person is seen atleast every 7 days. (so if you see them on Tuesday and then on Wednesday the next week you are out of compliance)
Anyone have any medicare guidlines for your policy?
Thanks for your help!
7 DAYS, you must see them every 7 days. My once a weekers are seen on Wed. If I skip a Wed and make it Thurs, we are out of compliance. Sometimes, I have a patient I need to increase to once a week, so I will see that patient on Wed, and then again say, MOnday and make them a Monday and Friday visit.
hope this helps,
Cindy
Our company standard is for twice "weekly" visits but there are times that a patient may only be seen once that week.
We project 1-2 times weekly visits (not 1-2 times every 7 days).
Therefore if I see the patient on Wednesday but don't get back to them (for some crazy reason) until the following Thursday I have still seen them once weekly.
The question is weekly vs every 7 days.
Is there a medicare/state guideline that says it's a week is 7 days not a calendar week?
I know this is confusing! Thank you for your help! :)
