Good morning!
Joe, glad your father got to the hospital. Blood infections are nothing to play with. Hope he's discharged soon. Sometimes our docs will want to wait until the cultures are finalized and keep the patient until then to assure proper abx therapy.
Nothing much going on today. Before getting on the internet, I started a load of laundry and made some chili and quinoa for lunches, and am making a lentil potato soup, and put on a load of laundry.
Not sure if my productivity is a sign of anxiety or good mental health. LOL
After the insurance adjuster finishes, which won't take long. I might make it to the gym or take a break. We'll see. Working the floor tomorrow.
Beautiful weather in the low 80's. Have the windows open right now. Air conditioner will go on later.
Have a great day.
Going to be 80 and sunny today, no rain.
I woke up a while ago and lolled in bed, reluctant to get up. I had fed Momo earlier and unlocked the doors so when SiL came over, she didn't have to knock or ring. Slept some more after that. When I finally got up, it was to make myself a cup of coffee. My lower right back was aching and I realized I hadn't taken my meds, so I am back in bed sitting against my lumbar support pillow and waiting for the meds to kick in.
I hear SiL downstairs, thumping and bumping as she gets Nannie into and out of the shower. Momo only barked at the noise briefly, one time; she is under the covers with her little baby blanket and her little rubber squeak dog. It is amazing to me that after I've had her for a year, she is finally coming out of her shell, so to speak. She engages in play every night, brings her toy up beside me and drops it and then looks at me....she wants me to toss it so she can get it and bring it back.....she has never done that before! And I don't know if this is a fluke or not, but when I told her to 'sit' the other day, she actually DID sit!
I have to take a shower after SiL takes Nannie away. I had my hair shaped up yesterday and now, from sleeping on it, it is sticking out every whichaways, so charming! When SiL saw my haircut yesterday she said it looked good, and then said she could have done that, but she had been "undercutting the lower layers" and didn't know I wanted some 'stacking' done in the back. Actually I hadn't thought of that until I called the hairdresser we all had always used before hubby died, and when I mentioned to her that the back of my hair was "too heavy", I asked if she could do some 'shingling', like before, but I had the wrong word...it is 'stacking', Who knew! Anyway, Hairdresser will be moving in a few weeks and I wanted to get in one last haircut with her before she was gone 100 miles away. I guess next trim I will see how SiL does with the SUBTLE stacking, and if she doesn't pass muster, I will have to search for another hairdresser.
Today I have to go to the pharmacy to pick up a refill, and stop by Verizon to pay my cellphone bill, and stop by the bank to reaffirm my auto-payments due dates so I can keep the checkbook balanced. (I know I could do it all on-line or by phone, but 'we' know, don't we, about how anti-computer-biznezz I am!) Anyway, I have tomorrow when Chatty CG comes to sit with Nannie, to PUT AWAY my clean clothes (FINALLY! .....I hope!)
I am looking/reading some of the political stories on the news feed, but NOT reading the comments and not putting in my own 2 cents. It is so aggravating how stew-pidd and cruel some folks are when making their comments. So I will disengage from that part of pre-election blah-dee-blah, and maybe I won't get all wound up and appalled by how my 'fellow-Americans' express themselves. It has devolved to name calling and personal insults, so I can do without that! I did a mail-in vote so I wouldn't have to deal with lines, nor my simmering fear that the polling places might be like running a gauntlet or worse. So the contribution of my vote is taken care of, and I don't have to worry about much else now, except the electoral college, over which I have NO power! I'm throwing ALL of it up in the air, and where it lands, it lands. I know whatever way the vote goes, it isn't going to be the end of it all, because those who are dis-satisfied will certainly squawk. I just hope it doesn't turn into some kind of 1/6 like last time.
Tomorrow I also have a 2 PM appt for the tire alignment/balance of my KIA Soul. It is no 'fun' to have to make any and all appts on my "day off", which needs to be an actual, for real, day OFF! And I then could decide to go somewhere on the spur-of-the-moment! "Wouldn't it be loverly?!"
SiL has taken Nannie away for 4-5 hours. I think my meds have finally eased off the lower back ache, so I am going to take a shower, wash my hair, and start a load of MY laundry. After that I will go out to the pharmacy. Can you even stand all this excitement?

Work was good yesterday, no new cases, no meetings, and nothing really unusual, except for a DME issue that took some doing, but really it was a pretty easy day
Which was good. In the morning I got a call from dad's doctor, while he was in Wisconsin on vacation he apparently had to go to the ER for a bladder infection. He was discharged after a few hours with antibiotics, however his blood cultures had come back positive, so he needed to go back to the hospital. But the doctor didn't have his cell number, and the hospital didn't call him directly. So I had to call dad on his cell explain the situation, advised him to call the doctor (and give him the number, which for some reason he didn't have) and then go back to the hospital.
A few hours later the hospital pharmacy called me to go over his meds, so I knew he was admitted. I texted my sister to update, then called dad, who said he felt fine but was still getting IV antibiotics, he said he might be discharged today or tomorrow depending on how things go.
Managed to stay pretty calm through all of that, although I am feeling a bit drained today, but still calm. Going to meet the over 50 group tonight for dinner but otherwise should be an ordinary day
Going to be another unusually warm day today, up to about 80, will need to have the AC on. Storms overnight and will be much cooler by tomorrow
