Tweety I found my original cat sitter through my vet.  The subsequent ones have been recommended by the previous ones

Dianah my alma matter is a bit over 300 miles away, maybe about 5 hours or so

Ado I've felt earthquakes here on rare occasions.  And sometimes rumbles from blasting at a nearby quarry

NJ22 we're having similar weather here

Stars hopefully the vet can find some answers, it probably is a UTI

Work was fine yesterday.  Even with the changes at work, things remain on the slow side, at least so far.  Which is good, changes are easier to adapt to when things are slower

Was tired much of yesterday morning, even after a 2nd cup of tea.  Noticed the last 2 mornings I have woken up a bit early, not unusual, but I don't think I fell back to sleep.  Might be related

Nothing much apart from work yesterday.  Exercised and worked on details of the Rockford trip

Today have grocery shopping after work, will work on the details of the trip some more

Will get up to nearly 50 today, will be similar temps the rest of the week

Good morning!

Joe, hope things are slow for you again today.  Hope your cat is okay.

Stars, hope the dog is okay.

We're having nice days.  Today is sunny up to 66 and might might 70 the next couple of days.  Good to not be so cloudy as it as been.

I think I got my internal clock fixed to Florida time.  Woke up sometime in the middle of the night with my glasses on, reading light on, book on my chest (I hadn't read a word) and then my dogs let me sleep a whopping two hours past their breakfast.  I must have gotten 8 hours sleep.  Will again try to not take a nap but I've been on my benzo a couple of weeks to deal with travel anxiety and jet lag/time changes and need to detox from that.  That's too long for my liking.

So far my GI symptoms are better.

I used a local gay men's business FB group to start for my dog sitter search as I knew there were a couple on there and then would have moved on.  One guy's Rover.com (the site J22 mentioned) said "must be crate trained" and that was a no.  The guy I ultimately decided on is retired and gives good references.  The only thing is I don't know how old he is and that he doesn't drive.  Although he walks the dogs so he must be in decent condition.  His rates are reasonable.  He gave me a free day because my dogs are rescues.

Anyway, I'm going back to the gym today. Going to get a new printer as mine quit and it's easier to just get a new one, as well as a vacuum cleaner for the one room that has a carpet as it's a mess.

I'm still off a few more days.

Howdy~

I'm up, Nannie's up, and Momo is up. So far I am pleased that Momo did her biznezz where she's supposed to; now if she will do anything further on the underpad on the floor, I will be VERY happy.

I think a UTI is quite possible. Hope any meds the vet might give her will be a liquid instead of pill form; she is practically impossible to pill. Not sure when I will be able to get an appt for her, but hope it is soon.

SiL is coming over after work to be with Nannie for a few hours. I have to run to the post office and the bank, and other than that, I hope to paw through the mess in my old room and sort out  piles for > pitch out, donate, save/store. BiL just called and after he does some errands he is going to come over and get the trailer of discarded things to take to the dump; then come back and load hubby's long-unused but relatively still new-ish lawn mower, to take it back to his house see if later on he can get it cleaned up and going again. Then he will bring the empty trailer back so we can load it up with MORE stuff! Wheee! I do love to get rid of unused and un-needed stuff!

Found two framed (professional) photos, one of Nannie and one of her husband,  before they married. So, Nannie sez, "Who are those people in the frames on the mantle?" - "Well, Nannie, it's YOU and your husband, back when you were still youngsters!" She made no comment, and turned back to looking out the window at how bright the sun is today.

I hope the funk I was in last night has gone by the wayside for a while; I hate feeling like that.

Ordered 6.7 x 9 foot rug to go in my guest bedroom to cover some doggie pee stains that are permanent.  My dogs have never learned the difference between a rug and a pee pad.  Then the room will be off limits as it usually is.  Ordered a blanket for the spare bedroom as well (it has a comforter but not a blanket), a new printer because mine went bad, a small vacuum cleaner or the new rug because my old won broke a couple of years ago.  Everything ordered on Amazon.  Crazy what you can get delivered to your home these days.  It's amazing how quick I can go through money,.

Best friend and travel buddy has covid.  Very extremely mild symptoms like a runny nose and that's it.   I re-tested myself once again and am still negative.  Not sure how that's possible that he's positive and I'm negative.  I'm sure he'll be okay.

Nice! I went out to do my few errands, and when I came back nobody was here! Then I got a text from SiL that she was giving Nannie a pedicure at her house. They will bring Nannie back after supper. Meanwhile, I am heading upstairs to sort through the mess in the old bedroom.

Stars, it really sounds like a relationship with Nannie was really stalled for a while while your husband was alive and in conflict with them.  Obviously, a DIL doesn't come to give her MIL a pedicure if there wasn't something there to begin with, despite Nannie's difficult personality.  I mean, who gives their MIL a pedicure?   What a blessing it is that her son and DIL have stepped up to the plate to help the both of you.  Sounds like you can really count on them even though you still are doing the bulk of the care and I'm sure they appreciate it.

I got my printer from Amazon within a few hours and it's up and running.  I do want to connect it to my phone in the rare even I want to print from my phone.  I usually use it to print recipes and occasional forms.  I printed up the Tax Returns for the last four years just to have them in paper form.  My 2023 returns were accepted by the IRS just have to weight for the deposit to my check.

I have to print my W2 from work since there's a firewall the prevents me from doing that from home.  What I did was take a picture of it on my phone and copy the information from he picture to the Tax Return.  The company I use saves last years information so no a lot to do but plug in the latest numbers.  Since it's electronic, I don't have to sent it to them like in the old days.
