Dianah sorry to hear about your cat.  It sounds like it was time, as a pet owner you  know when that time comes

Tweety congratulations to your bowling team

Ado glad that everything turned out OK with the stepson

NJ22 I didn't do much this Valentine's either

Work was pretty busy towards the end but otherwise not bad.  Didn't do much Valentine's wise but had some chocolates throughout the day.  J and I still wished each other a happy Valentine's

Rest of the day was fairly ordinary.  Watched some Peanuts specials I had on DVD, including Be My Valentine Charlie Brown.  Find that the later ones tend to be less good

Today have grocery shopping after work, and need to stop at the library.  Also need to start reaching out to counselors, might do that during lunch hour

Will be fairly warm today, up to the low 50s, although much cooler the next 2 days

Hubby and I got to go out to a Chinese Restaurant yesterday, so that was a nice break. The restaurant gave customers little valentine gifts....small white bears on a stick with lights that turned on (like little Christmas lights) and could stay on or blink. The little kids at the restaurant were thrilled with them. We took our two and put them in a vase on the mantle for Nannie to enjoy.

Now I am again doing laundry, and will shortly go to the grocery store.

Hubby's left hand is VERY edematous. He says he will wait until his doc's appt tomorrow to see about it. It makes me quite a bit nervous!

Welp, have to get about my day's business now.....

Hello all!

No Stars, so glad you were able to get away for a bit!  Thinking of those blinking lights on the white bears gave me a giggle.  Hope Mr. Stars' hand heals up.  GOOD that he has his appt tomorrow!

Hello Joe!  Nice to have a day when one enjoys Valentine's chocolates!

We had a good time at yesterday's jam.  After we got home, we had leftovers for dinner, and then I baked some gingerbread cookies, then made some lentil soup.  Slept well last night.

No rain is forecast till next week.  It seems when we leave for Arizona on Friday, it will be raining here but not in AZ.

We are getting used to Cloud's absence.  She was called "Baby Cloud," as her mom (half-feral) birthed her in our garage and put her in a paper bag.  Dh heard her mewing, and mewed back, and back and forth they went until he was able to locate the paper bag and retrieve the kitten.  Through her years with us, he would often pet her and tell her the story of how she was born in a bag, and she mewed at him until he found her.  They shared a special bond.  ?   And she had a good life.  We know she had lots of love and food and security.

We were invited to a 4pm wedding in late March.  We have decided to go "dapper."  From what I have read about wedding etiquette, this will be close to a "formal" event.  I am kinda enjoying preparing an outfit to wear (and probably won't have the chance to wear this again, LOL!  We just don't "do" formal events!).  This will be different from going to Disneyland as dapper.  Anyway, am working on especially getting shoes that look nice and are comfortable.  I will wear a little heel, as most of the time we will be sitting down and I won't have to walk all over Disneyland wearing them!

Have a good day!

dianah, Such a sweet, memorable story about Baby Cloud. So sorry she had to be put down, but I know the time was right. I still miss 'Fletcher' and 'The Most Adorable Nubbins'....and I had them YEARS ago. Looking forward to when we can get a cat or two again, but that is dependent on the lifespan of Nannie.?

Hubby is determined we will place her sooner than later. Let us pray. // By the way, he is still being moderate in his drinking. Appt is tomorrow afternoon. MAYBE he will remain in the mood to detox. It would be nice. HE thinks he drinks so much because of Nannie making him crazy, so we'll see about that.

It is a warm, gray day. Looks like it wants to rain, but who knows if or when it will. I saw a large soccer field (3 fields side-by-side) that ALWAYS floods when it rains, and today some brilliant maintenance person has the sprinklers on there. They only use it on Sundays, so maybe it will dry out again by then.

Time to pull the pot-pies out of the oven. That's hubby's choice for supper tonight.
