Wayne State University, DET Waiting for Response

U.S.A. Michigan

Published

Hello, I am applying to Wayne State University College of Nursing in Detroit, Michigan for fall 2010. I have completed all of my requirements to be considered for an interview/ admissions (my application is complete). How long will it take to hear a response from WSU CoN regarding an interview and or acceptance notice?

When they update our status online, will they have rejected/denied for students that were not admitted? Or will it just say "Interviewed" (that's what my is on my page right now) and no change in status? Just wondering what to expect. Thanks!

Oh awesome! I dont have any experience in health care, but I also volunteered. :) Yes, they will update your status and if you get in it will say "admit" !

My interview was scheduled at 11am, and I didn't get in till noon-ish. Make sure you take your time answering questions, this is your chance to show yourself. They don't rush you, so if you take more than 15 minutes it's only better IMO. They put a huge emphasis on stress related to the program, so just say you work well under stress. They also asked me if it was hard taking so many science prepeqs all at once, and of course I said no LOL Although it was HELL! They also wanted to know about any experience in health care, if I have a car to drive to clinical sites etc. My friends told me they asked them same questions. They did not ask why you want to be a nurse or why you chose WSU.

The interview was conducted in a class room, and I sat in a chair in front of a microphone, you kinda have to lean in and speak into it LOL The two ladies had a laptop in front of them with all the info and questions. Your lucky to have your interview so late, the wait is making me go mental!

This is very hard because everyone interviewed deserves to be admitted, we all have perfect GPA. Good luck and let me know how it goes!

Hey! Wondering if anyone from interviews today had their personal page change from "interview" to "interviewed" mine changed but now its back to just interview lol. not sure what thats about! let me know thanks :)

Just checked mine, still says Interviewed 2. I'm sure that's just some tech glitch, don't worry. Did they say when we'll have results posted? How'd the interview go?

Does yours have a number next to it? Mine says interview 3. I called yesterday to ask because I was paranoid. The lady must not have been listening to me because she was just like "no its not going to change from interview to interviewed" and she hung up so idk LOL i guess we will see? Sorry for the delay btw...my interview went well! (but like you said I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way!)

Yes, mine says Interview 2. I was in the second round June 7-9th. There also was a first round of interviews back in May. I don't call them because I've had some not very pleasant experience with the staff at Office of Student Affairs while submitting my prereqs and stuff. So I'm just staying away LOL I'm hoping to see results by the end of this week, I'm going mental! :uhoh3:

LOL yeah I agree. I was nervous to call because they havent been the nicest at times, but i just wanted to make sure. lol I think it might be sometime next week to be honest. :/

I had my interview back on june 7th as well. It still says interview 2 on mine, but I applied to the second degree program. I talked to OSA yesterday and she told me admission decisions will be announced on june 29th (next wed). I know the waiting game is wearing on me as well!

I had my interview for the traditional program on May 12th and it says Interview 1 on my page. The wait is driving me crazy! I though i'd hear back by mid June! Does anyone know how many applicants were interviewed and how many they will accept?

I wonder what happened to the "Decisions will be announced the third week of June" statement they made in their email?

Thank you wsugolfer for the update! :D

I'm sure they will have all the stats and numbers available once the decisions are made. I spoke with the nursing adviser back in March and she told me they had 173 "eligible" applicants for the traditional program last year. Eligible meaning all 173 students had GPA of 3.5 or better (they had about 1200 applicants overall for 2010). Of those 173 only 48 got accepted. This year they are also accepting 48 people for traditional and 48 for CD2. Hope that helped :D
