I don't mind working hard, especially when the instructor is willing to help you succeed. Do you have any advice/tips on the best way to study for her class? I have already picked up flashcards and been familiarizing myself with medical terminology. Do you think recording her lectures would be helpful?
I didn't, I know a lot of people did though. What worked best for me, especially because you only meet once a week, is to read the chapter before lecture, and usually what I didn't "get" from reading she covered in lecture. Your book comes with bunches of online stuff to do, and Dr. Jay also offers quizzes and her lecture notes online. Study groups worked too. When in doubt, ask - I found that most the time, it helped me to hear other people's questions and Jay's answers. Lots of folk have told me this is the series (AP 1 and 2) that separates those who will make it and those that don't. You can do it! :)
Jay is great. I had her for AP2 & loved her. She really wants you to succeed & really prepares you for the nursing program. I am in my last semester of the nursing program & looking forward to being done in May. Pretty much everyone I know in the program had to apply twice before getting in, so keep that in mind when applying. The semester I was waiting to get into the program I took the CNA class with Judy Reardanz. Excellent class & teacher. It really prepared me for the nursing clinicals. Good luck!

Anyone else starting A&P I at Waubonsee for Spring 2010? I'm enrolled in a Saturday section and was just curious who else may be starting as well.
